The Testing Center is committed to providing testing services to Colorado Mesa University students, alumni and members of the Western Colorado community. The Testing Center proctors for a large variety of national testing programs including GED, PRAXIS and GRE. In addition, the Testing Center is a Prometric Testing Center and is committed to serving all Prometric clients. For specific test opportunities, please contact the Testing Center.

The items listed below are not allowed in the Testing Center which are explained in the Testing Center Procedures and Regulations. If any of these items are brought to the center, they will need to be locked in your locker until you have finished testing.

Testing Opportunities
The Colorado Mesa University Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology (RT), Medical Technology (MLT), Surgical Technology (ST) programs require the ATI TEAS exam as part of the admissions process. The ATI TEAS was developed to measure basic essential skills in the academic content area domains of Reading, Mathematics, Science, and English and Language Usage. There is a total of 150 scored questions and 20 unscored questions.
Exam sections and timing:
Reading Comprehension: 45 questions - 55 minutes
Mathematics: 38 questions - 57 minutes
Science: 50 questions - 60 minutes
English and Language Usage: 37 questions - 37 minutes
Total testing time allowed is 209 minutes.
Pre-Registration and Payment
Pre registration: Students must create an account with ATI prior to scheduling an appointment. Please visit www.atitesting.com for more information and to create your account. You will need your ATI log in and password to access the exam. The ATI Teas exam can be administered using a virtual proctoring service or in person.
Payment: The CMU fee is $120 for in-person testing and $125 for testing using a virtual proctor. If you are a current CMU student with no financial holds, we will bill your student account. If you are not a CMU student please visit: MarketPlace for online payments to pay for the exam. All payments are prepaid and non-refundable.

How to create your account with ATI
Certiport manages a sophisticated portfolio of leading certification programs including: the official Microsoft Office Specialist certification program, the Microsoft Technology Associate certification program, the Microsoft Certified Educator program, the Adobe® Certified Associate certification program, the Autodesk Certified User and Autodesk Certified Professional certification programs, the Intuit QuickBooks Certified User certification program, the IC3 Digital Literacy certification and the Certiport Business Fundamentals certification program.
Pre-Registration and Payment
Pre-Registration: Visit http://www.certiport.com and create an account, if you do not already have one. If you have not been provided a voucher from your school, you will need to log-in to your account, select the exam you want to take and pay the exam fee. Once you have paid the fee, you will receive a voucher number. You MUST bring the voucher number with you on your testing date.
Payment: The CMU fee is $40. If you are a current CMU student with no financial holds, we will bill your student account. The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) allows students to use the knowledge they already have to gain credit for classes. The Testing Center offers all CLEP examinations, however only certain exams are accepted for CMU credit. The CLEP exam tests for a comprehensive understanding of a college level class much like a comprehensive final. Students are strongly encouraged to review the CLEP study guide or the textbook before testing. Examinees can purchase study guides directly from CLEP. Students may not retest for three months. Please contact the Testing Center with any questions about CLEP testing.
A student may not earn CLEP credit in a class in which they have previously been enrolled including a class from which the student withdrew, so that the transcript shows a W, WP, or WF.
Pre-Registration and Payment
Pre-Registration: Visit http://clep.collegeboard.org and create an account. After you create an account, log in and select the exam you want to take and pay CLEP the $95 fee. Once you have paid the fee, CLEP will email you a registration ticket. You MUST bring the registration ticket with you on your testing date.
Payment: If you are a CMU student with no financial holds, the $25 proctoring fee will be billed to your student account. If you are not a CMU Student, please visit MarketPlace for online payments to pay the $25 proctoring fee, prior to the your exam date. All payments are prepaid and non-refundable.

Exam scheduling is available online by logging in to your MAVzone, selecting the course that you are trying to schedule a test for and then selecting the RegisterBlast link within the table of contents for the course.
Some faculty permit 2nd and 3rd attempts on their exams. If a student chooses to retest on any of their exams, a $25 testing fee is required in order to secure a new testing date and time.

Students taking classes with other institutions can take proctored exams through the Testing Center. Exams or exam instructions must be received before scheduling. If the institution requires paperwork to be filled out before releasing the test or for additional information, please contact the Testing Center.
Payment
The CMU Fee is $40 minimum charge, for the first two-hours of testing, and $15 for each additional hour. The charge is based on the time limit set by the institution for each exam, even if the examinee takes less than the scheduled time. There is a $20 rescheduling fee, which is valid for 6 months from the original testing date.

DSST examinations allow students to earn credits for knowledge they already have. Students from other institutions should contact their institution for more information. CMU students should consult the College Catalog for specific policies. Exams are 2 hours long.

*CMU does not offer the Public Speaking test.

The Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exam is a tool to determine if the students have the academic skills necessary to perform effectively in a School of Nursing, and is required for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and the Practical Nurse (PN) programs. The test is a 91 question, multiple choice exam that evaluates the basic reading, math, writing, and science skills of students seeking entry into a nursing program. This exam can only be taken once per application period.
Exam sections and timing:
Tutorial: 9 questions- untimed
Reading: 22 questions- 45 minutes
Math: 28 questions- 45 minutes
Writing: 21 questions- 45 minutes
Science: 20 questions- 30 minutes
Total testing time allowed is 165 minutes.

Pre-Registration: Students must create an account with Kaplan and add themselves to the current cohort (Fall2024/Spring 2025 ADM) prior to making an appointment. Click the link to visit Kaplan to create your account. You will need your Kaplan log in and password to access the test.

The KINE 100 Test Out exam covers information from the KINE 100 lecture course. The examination consists of 150 multiple choice and true/false questions, with a time limit of 2 hours. You must NOT be registered for or have taken the CMU KINE 100 lecture course (or equivalent) prior to taking the KINE 100 Test Out examination. A passing score of 80% (120 correct responses) is required in order to have the KINE 100 lecture course requirement waived. Upon passing, credit hours are not awarded and no grades are awarded, passing the exam only waives the KINE 100 class requirement. The KINE 100 Test Out exam can be taken only once. If the examinee does not meet the score requirement he/she must take the KINE 100 lecture course. This examination may not be used as a grade improvement for KINE lecture course. A copy of scores will be sent to the Office of the Registrar and KINE Department Head approximately two business days after the test date. The textbook for the course may be purchased from the CMU Bookstore.
